点评：Be very careful about your purchases at the self checkout. We witnessed a mom and daughter be humiliated at the self checkout when they were accused of shoplifting 2 grocery items on the bottom of their shopping cart. I can personally vouch for them that they made an attempt to scan the items on the bottom of the cart because I almost accidentally tripped over the daughter as she was on her knees scanning the items on the bottom of the cart. As they were exiting the store we were behind them when a very rude store associate stopped them and demanded their receipt for which the mother promptly complied. I am an attorney and a witness to this so I stepped in to say that I witnessed the daughter scanning the items on the lower cart and that it might very possibly be the fault of the scanner device at the Self Checkout. Security was so accusatory, inappropriate and unprofessional with this mom and daughter. The mother checked the receipt and was so embarrassed and she immediately offered to pay for the items and she promptly returned and paid at the self checkout. But not before, a kid who worked security did his best to humiliate and frighten the mother and daughter. They exited the store crying and very frightened.
If this happens to you, demand to see the store security video recordings. If the over zealous store security attempts to prosecute and you know that this was either an honest mistake on your behalf or a scanning error with the self checkout scanning gun, make sure to pay for the items, report this to Walmart Ethics and possibly hire legal representation if you feel your civil rights were violated and you are humiliated for an HONEST mistake or store SCANNING ERROR. The store video recordings will be your proof.
