点评：Much like those huge metal horses in Scotland, this must-see attraction is easily accessible when passing through and provides for a perfect 2-9 minute break in your journey. The main sight is best experienced directly from your vehicle and in both directions. I strongly recommend disabling start/stop technology in one direction so as to feel the idling of your engine (if. Non-EV) which would have been commonplace for the early visitors from c.2015.
Things to look out for:
- their is an integrated light show, operational 24/7, though the best colour combination of red and amber is only active for 2.6% of the time. There is an air of excitement palpable at this time, as this signals both the start of a heartwarming green-lit phase, and allows visitors to transition between viewpoints.
- try to visit at night, to best experience the light shows intensity.
- don’t miss out on sounds. This varies between an industrial rumble during the day, to the sound of distant birds on an evening.
- a siren-type sound can be activated along with a rare blue-lit flashing light shows variation, if you are lucky enough to arrive at the right time and choose to combine this with a decision to change viewpoints prior to the green-lit show. This costs either £60 or 3-points on your licence but is worth it.
- the facility may close down by 2035 so expect significant queues during peak hours as pressure to visit before decommissioning increases
- do not recommend the free fast-access queue jumper pass as this restricts you to the lower level only, where views of the light show are minimal and fleeting.
