点评:We spent almost a week in the Park, working our way counterclockwise around the park. There is no way to drive through the park, so you have to drive into the park at various points then return to US 101. This is a spectacular park with three distinct environments--mountains, rain forests, and coasts. Be warned that the park was extremely crowded during our late August visit. Lodging is sparse and expensive. By all means, book ahead. The two most crowded areas are Hurricane Ridge and Hoh Rain Forest. These places are limited by available parking, so arrive early to avoid having to wait in line to get past the entrance gate. There are some lesser visited places. Ozette on the coast had delightful trails and was not jammed. The Quinalt Rain Forest is just as interesting as Hoh and much less visited. Deer Park at the end of a beautiful drive has a nice short trail to a great viewpoint. The Park Service offers very little interpretation, either with personal tours or interpretive signs and trails. The visitor centers are terrible for exhibits and films but great for getting information about where to go and what to do. Bottom line is that with some extensive planning, your visit to Olympic will be a lifetime memory.
