I used to be a member many years ago and left due to working away.
I rejoined for a short period (3 months) as a test to see if it still provided the service I would expect.
As you can see from the 1* - it does not.
The gym has a notice stating that until financial goals are met the very neccessary maintenance will not be undertaken!
Prior to handing in my confirmation of cancellation (i.e. not extending beyond the 3 months) I asked for a call from the general manager - reason the spin bikes are tired, some screens do not work and actually it is known to those who attend regularly that the instructors have been known to do some repairs themselves!!! Good of them to do so, but only so much they can do. Gym floor has dents that ARE and H&S issues aswell as missing tiles/ grout/ mold around wet areas!!! General manager did not want to hear about this (mid december 2023).
Recently (Jan 2024) before finishing up I have unsuccessfully tired to use the app to book onto classess. First time I called I was informed because I had cancelled my membership and the full month sum had not gone through I would not be able to book. Person who answered (Joanne) did what she could i.e. book under her name - again structurally Bannatynes NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
Second time this happened (today @ 1630) I was informed it would take 5 mins to sort and I'd be able to book. Left it 1/2 hour - nope. Person who took call was going to call back. By this point I don't want to be in the facility and just want my money (only for this part month) back.
General manager finally decides to take call. Wants to explain! Really - too late. After he explains he can do it his end and therefore he doesn't understand why I can't!!! Just stop general manager! Asked if he would return my money for this part month. No point us going round in circles. Answers no. Only fair I publish this accurate record of events.
If your selling a premuim make sure its premium not part working, requiring more than acceptable amount of maintenance and undertaken in a reasonable period! Please note none of the maintenance I have mentioned has been done!
On a positive though everyone I spoke to has been polite - structurally this gym has lost the fact it is suppose to be at the premium end of the market but does not offer that service either in the state of the amenities or the percieved deliberate blocks put in place for people who have paid for a service but it is unavailable.
