Not a typical garden centre, but loads of unusual and interesting plants
Plant World Gardens & Nursery的点评
点评:Visiting right at the end of season, early October, most gardens are dying back and looking a little unkempt. At plantworld there wasn't a vast amount in flower, but you wouldn't expect that. The world gardens are fairly steep in places, but this is Devon so hardly surprising, and the views all the way down are amazing. Some areas of planting seem fairly loosely related geographically, but that's partly because we are so used to introduced species we forget they're not native. The lower parts of the gardens in particular had plants we'd not seen before, and throughout there was plenty of rare / interesting planting. There's also plenty of fun and humour throughout, and quirks for children to spot.
The "garden centre" part, with plants for sale, is quite small but everything looked very healthy and there was a wealth of unusual plants for purchase (we couldn't resist). This isn't a typical garden centre though, so no acres of tools, pots, statuary, soaps and honey to negotiate.
Really good value for £3 (and it's on the 2-for-1 scheme). Closed now for the rest of 2024, but if we are around in 2025 we will go back (ideally a different time of year)
