An Unforgettable Experience – A Must-Visit in Hokitika!

点评：I absolutely loved my visit today! What was meant to be a quick stop turned into hours of exploring because everything was so fascinating and engaging. The care and effort put into each animal’s habitat, especially the eels and the kiwi, was truly impressive.
I found myself reading every sign and info board because so many of the animals and fish were completely new to me. I learned so much—eels have now become my favorite fish, and kiwis my favorite mammal (yes, they’re mammals, not birds! 😉).
The staff were outstanding. The lady feeding the eels was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. The front desk staff were equally cheerful, welcoming, and clearly passionate about their work.
What really set this place apart were the unique, hands-on experiences—feeding the eels, catching crayfish, and watching the kiwi feeding. I was so engrossed in the kiwi information area that I spent at least half an hour there! And to top it all off, I even got a chocolate fish treat. 🤭
I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Hokitika—it’s an unforgettable experience for all ages!
