点评：We visited The Forks Market and noticed that the building and market concept has experienced a significant decline and degeneration in recent years, a shroud of its former self. Is This The New Portage Place? We noticed very few shops were still open, left; the Pancake House is gone, and the few remaining vendors and shops provided poor service and low-quality products, making the space feel more like a dungeon and tourist trap than a local quality market. There was no Christmas cheer here, and the food we tried was largely charred, undercooked, and cold in the main-level commons hall of gloom. Expensive, low-quality alcoholic drinks were available at the bars; these bars were all over the place, overkill, and rather disgusting; the whole building is licensed, apparently, and the central theme of the place is, in essence, booze and more booze, boozing, guzzlers and nightcap lushes, everywhere with no control, security or proper restraint. This government-sponsored drinking environment felt overwhelming, uncomfortable, and lackluster; an unsafe atmosphere was precariously floating throughout the building and in the shadows. It is concerning to know that the forks market is government-run, government-supported, and government-funded, with public funds and a cornucopia of continuous government grants funneling through the system here unchecked, considering this market's continued failed state of affairs, a shadow of its former self and now a disaster. Once a vibrant hub, the Forks Market is overrun by unruly visitors, poor service, low-quality goods, booze, lushes, and poor management embraced by government-funded neglect encouraging bankrupt visions. As it stands, we cannot recommend the Forks Market.
