Wonderlful new addition; Horrible docents!
乔斯林艺术博物馆的点评
点评：The new addition is spectacular! Fabulous architectural design! The contemporary art in the new addition is wonderful. The staff (docents), however, were terrible!!! Untrained or trained to be rude to patrons! In all the years I have visited museums - all around the world, I have never experienced such blatant rudeness!!! We were told, rudely, several times, to step away from exhibits. We were given incongruous and conflicting information (one rude docent said 2-feet, the other rude one said 12 inches) about how many feet to stay away from exhibits - some which are only truly appreciated for their fine workmanship, by looking up closely - as you would with a pointillism painting by Georges Seurat. If a 2-foot buffer is required in the new museum addition (or elsewhere), then a large poster should be installed at the main front desk with this information; and as you check in, the staff at the front desk should tell visitors to stay away from artwork by 12 or 24 inches. Ridiculous!!! What started out as a wonderful experience was destroyed as we walked around to appreciate many wonderful works of contemporary art. Our first experience to the new Joslyn addition was totally wrecked by the horrible way we were treated, singled out, and discriminated against by the untrained staff. Oh, and as a sideline, there are no benches for the elderly to sit in the new galleries. All museums have places to sit - if not to just rest, but to contemplate works of art. Another example of discrimination.
