Wonderful lodge with great service, accommodation and golf

点评：We were worried about staying here after some of the reviews but I think they must be disgruntled golfers … we loved the luxurious bedrooms, wonderful views out over the golf course and towards the bay and the lovely staff who went over and above to provide excellent service. The food was outstanding with local produce and wonderful wines.
We also did a tour around the land and enjoyed drinks down on pink sands beach - real highlight of our trip. We also enjoyed a side trip to the waitangi treaty grounds - enjoy the museum, cultural performance and learnt about the history of NZ.
Only improvements are golf related … need better half way facilities… drinks/snacks/wraps easy to pick up half way or pre order at start of game so ready for us at the turn. Also we should get bag tags on our golf clubs- expensive to play here and many courses in USA and UK add them to your bag… some courses personalise them for you with your name. Just makes it a more upmarket experience.
Thanks to the Ukrainian lady at breakfast- she was so lovely and to the general manager lady who welcomed us and made our stay wonderful.
Combine this was cape kidnappers and Matakauri- play jacks point, the hills and arrowhead- the best lodes in New Zealand.
Highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to explore bay of islands and also play golf.
