Diving in Baa Atoll on a local island

点评：In August 2024 I was diving with Manta Nomad Divers. It was really an unforgettable diving holiday. Ashhal the owner and Khamis the leading Instructor of the Dive School are welcoming and professional. They know a lot of the dive sites, marine life and the seasonal conditions in nature. As a plus they have good connections to fishermen and other people. So nearyl everytime there is somebody outside at the ocean, ready to call. I had twice the luck to see a whaleshark.
The diveschool is located on the Island Maalhos. In this area is Hanifaru Bay. This is a natural reserve where you can see Manta cyclonfeeding. For seeing this you join snorkling trip and it is worth it. Anyway you can see Manta while diving as well.
All the divesites are spectacular and beautiful. You can see cleaning stations, beautiful marine life and on the way to these spots you have nice boat trips. While the surface interval you visit islands where you can see old houses built of corals. You might have local lunch together with the friedly boat crew. The dive school does it's best to make you happy and everyone on the boat is assisting and ready for a talk. In these I learned a lot of Maledivian culture and habits. Even when you are not diving, the team is ready to show you the jungle on the island or the best spots for watching the sunset.
I went there on my own, but I also recommend to go there with your family. Even the little ones might see turtles while snorkeling around the house reef.
I can't wait to come again.
