点评:My friend and I came to San Luis just to hike up the Stations of the Cross. It was a beautiful day and an even more beautiful experience. At each of the stations, I read the accompanying Bible verse, then we would pause, reflect, look at the fabulous sculptures (so lifelike with exquisite details), admire the fall colors in the Valley, and then move on to the next station. I was disappointed that the "visitors" center (not sure if that is the correct name for it) was closed--most of the windows broken out and boarded up. When we got to the Shrine at the top, it, too, was locked, and we couldn't get in. There were critter droppings around the building, and little critters scampered in front of us as we tried to access the Shrine. That was a disappointment, as I had told my friend had beautiful it was inside the last time I came up the hill about a dozen years ago. We met several "regulars" along the path who come up on a regular basis for exercise--everyone we met was polite and lovely. It was a very good hike.
