Hey y'all!
My mom and I just got back from visiting cahuita for a little over two weeks and we had the best time thanks to Marco. This was my mom's 3rd time visiting Cahuita and she's used Marco for every trip.
We had so much fun y'all! Of course we used Marco for all our tours during our 15 day stay and im so glad we did!
My personal experience: Marco and his staff are very knowledgeable and convenient. We learned a lot about the culture and the animals. They always point out small details during the tours and explain things to you otherwise you'd miss all the cool animals because you don't know what you're looking for. Marco made sure we didn't miss a thing! They picked us up from our air b&b and dropped us back home for every tour which was super nice.
And for any solo female travelers Marco and his team are SAFE and TRUSTWORTHY. You'll be in good hands the entire time. Your safety, comfort, and enjoyment is what they aim for. Marco and his team and extremely professional and kind.
Here are some things my mom and I did with Marco
-Mistico hanging bridges
There were like 4 or 5 suspension bridges of various heights and lengths. Some are way up there! And we saw lots of cool animals along the way! The gift shop had some really good chocolates.
-Jungle Exploration
We were guided through the jungle and taken to extremely scenic locations. Without their help, we would have never found places like that on our own. We'd find hiden waterfalls along the way and jump in to cool off and take pictures! They pointed out tons of animals.
-Cahuita National Park
This is the first tour I remember doing with Marco and it was honestly the best day over, we were paired with other guests that were super cool and ended up doing more tours with Marco and his team together! But the vibe and atmosphere was amazing. We were taken through the national park and we got to learn and see how they protect the baby turtle eggs! Saw tons of little and huge lizards. Lots of different birds that I've never seen before. And sloths!
-Kayaking Tour in the Beautiful Punta Uva Mangroves and guided hike to the Punta Uva Secret Spot and Water Tunnel
We did this one with some of the girls we met on the first tour with marco! The water was calm, relaxing, and easy to navigate. There were tons of turtles! They swam all around our kayaks. And the water Tunnel was beautiful. Literally something out of a movie.
-Visit to the Punta Mona and Fruit tour
We traveled by boat and saw some of the most beautiful landscape along the way. When we arrived we tried all finds of different fruits that I've never tried before and they explained how some of them are used for medicinal reasons.
-Chocolate tour at the Indigenous Bribri culture center, Medicinal Plants, poison frog garden, and cacao waterfall exfoliation.
We met the Bribri people and learned so much about their culture and connection to nature and plants. I cook and grounded up some cacao and we turned it into different drinks and desserts. "The drink of the Gods!" We leaned words in their native language and I got to try on some traditional clothing. The poison frogs were so pretty! After we went to a huge waterfall and used the left over cacao as a body scrub and rinsed off in the waterfall. My skin was sooo soft after.
- Full day Bocas del Toro Tour
We went by boat to panama and went to a super cool hotel called skullys. We got to meet skully the pirate (the owner) and take fun pictures with him. Skullys also had a cool pirate bar right by the beach. Along the way we went to starfish beach and it was full of thr biggest starfish I've ever seen. We ate lunch on a floating restaurant/bar and even saw some dolphins during the boat ride. We stopped at Hopital Point and did some snorkeling too!
Marco and his team offer lots of more tours that we're looking forward to doing in the future!
