Chateau de Paraza的点评
点评：This is our second time visiting this wonderful chateau and vineyard, the first being 8 years ago. The chateau was the original residence of the engineer of the Canal du Midi so it has a wonderful grandness that is very welcoming.
At that time the family was making plans to have the chateau as a wedding destination, having modernized two bedrooms for the rental market and recently completed the tasting station.
Flash forward right years. The patriarch has passed, more bedrooms have been added, the grounds have become spectacular with flowering vines in many areas, and many more varieties of wines to try.
Lucile, the daughter who we had met years ago, was kind enough to come down to the tasting building where the wines age and once we had shown her the old pictures she remembered our last visit. She’s a great host and spent almost two hours with us showing us all the new varieties and laughing about how we had all changed over the years.
I’ll be frank and state that I’ve never tasted a bad Languedoc wine. That being said, when one stands out it is truly exemplary. That distinction goes to the Chateau de Paraza’s two best reds - “MMV” and “1”. I’m not a pro at this stuff, but these two were the best wines I tasted over my ten days on the Canal du Midi.
