Said is more than a guide; he is a proud ambassador of the Usambara region and its people. His knowledge is deep and personal—he shared fascinating insights into the local flora (pointing out medicinal plants and coffee trees), the history of the mountains, and the culture of the villages we passed through.
The trek itself was stunningly beautiful. The landscape of rolling hills, plantations, and villages is something you can't see from a car. The homestays or small village lodges he arranged were incredible, allowing us to connect with local families and experience genuine Tanzanian hospitality.
