Amazing luau & the BEST food trucks!

点评：We purchased tickets the day of the show. Since there is no reserved seating, we were a little worried about getting a good seat so that my children could see. However, we showed up right at 5:00, because we came straight from an afternoon snorkeling tour (that was near the gardens) and we were able to get a lawn spot in the second row of people in beach chairs. We brought our Tommy Bahama rental beach chairs, set up in the second row and had a great view of the show. My 9 year old and 5 year old could see just fine despite not being able to snag a picnic table in the back. The musicians played live intro music for about the first 30 minutes, which was perfect to go get food and drinks from the food trucks and made it back to our seats before the luau show started around 5:30ish. The show was beautiful and a perfect length for my kids. The setting is intimate and feels very laid back & relaxing. My kids especially loved the fire dancers and the nut leis we received upon entry. They have been wearing them every day since the show. They even wore them on the 10 hour plane rides home. Who knew the nut leis would be their favorite souvenir?! Overall, I’d say if you’re debating on this luau versus a more traditional experience where you have reserved seating and traditional luau food served, I’d go with this luau at South Maui Gardens because it’s an amazing show and the kids get to pick what food they want from the food trucks over a pre-arranged luau menu. The food trucks serve some of the BEST food in Maui!!!
