点评:I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience at Sparkling Pointe on 9/7/24 at around 4pm left me no choice. What should have been a peaceful afternoon and a purchase of a case of champagne turned into a frustrating and humiliating ordeal, thanks to the manager, Evan Ducz.
I arrived with my small service dog on a rainy day with few patrons. Mr. Ducz immediately refused to seat us, claiming the dog wasn’t allowed due to the winery being a “processing facility.” This is not only incorrect but a clear violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which allows service animals in public spaces. When I politely reminded him of this, he responded with a condescending question about what services my dog provided. Even after answering and offering documentation, his response was dismissive and rude, repeating that he will not seat us and he decides "who I let in."
When we asked for his name or business card, he refused, dismissing us while seating other customers. It was only after making a scene that he reluctantly gave us his name and card. As we left, Mr. Ducz followed us out the door, harassing us further to justify his unjustifiable actions. His lack of professionalism and respect left us humiliated.
After 25 years of frequenting North Fork wineries, I have never encountered such disgraceful behavior. I strongly urge the owners to reconsider Mr. Ducz's position and take corrective action. His actions are not only damaging to your reputation but a liability.
I will be filing a complaint with the ADA and the BBB and consulting an attorney.
