Lovely but seriously suffering from the federal cutbacks

点评：This is a very large wildlife refuge which provides a view of wide range of water birds even though we are out of the migration season. In addition to the birds, we saw a pronghorn and a ground squirrel. I imagine it would be even more impressive during the migration.
If you want to do photography, It is highly recommended that you come in the morning since the routes are set up such that the lakes are both back lit in the late afternoon.
Bring lots of bug spray since the mosquitoes are thick!
One problem is that they have been "doged" by the current cutbacks and they are seriously suffering from the cutbacks. The weeds have grown up over the sidewalks so you have difficulty getting into the Wildlife refuge visitor center and they don't even keep the toilets open outside the office hours even though the park is open Dawn to Dusk. Most folks are likely to be there when wildlife activity is greatest morning and evening.
