Old Fort Niagara的点评
点评：As a living history re-enactor I often spend time at Old Fort Niagara. It is one of the finest historical sites that I have ever visited. The fort was used as a military base from the French & Indian War through the Vietnam War and the staff is very well versed in that entire history. Historical events involving fort employees and re-enactors are scheduled throughout the year and cover that entire history.
I have attended events dressed for the French & Indian War, the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, and World War I.
With sensitivity to our native peoples, the role of women throughout all ages, and the role of soldiers of color during the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812, the staff shares accurate accounts of history, not a sanitized version that based on opinion rather than facts. The schedule of events is posted on the fort's web site and consulting that is well worth the effort. The French Castle...the fort's oldest building...is 300 years old this year.
