点评:My wife & I visited back in May.
We found the Centre to be well laid out, full of very interesting exhibits (we particularly liked the ‘They Walk With You’ feature towards the end) & staffed by a bunch of incredibly lovely people (especially the nice young lady who greeted us when we arrived, I think her name’s Vivian).
After visiting the Centre, I couldn’t go back to our hotel without first heading onto Juno Beach itself & paying homage to my late great grandfather at the very spot where he landed some of his Canadian comrades on D-Day.
Understandably he hardly ever spoke about his experiences of that day or the war in general but I’m incredibly proud of him nonetheless.
Seeing as it was my first time back in Normandy since I found out he was there that day & my first ever visit to Juno Beach, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t shed a few tears, not just for him but for all of those brave lads that did their bit.
I brought back little bit of sand & water from the beach, both as a memento of our visit but also as a little extra something to remember my great grandad by.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time over in Normandy & we’ve already booked accommodation for a longer visit next year so we look forward to visiting Juno Beach Centre again ❤️🇬🇧🇨🇦
