Tips for a day walk into the Routeburn from the Glenorchy/ Paradise side.

点评：I live in Queenstown and had not walked the Routeburn for some time. It’s one of the world’s great walks.
This review is for a full day walk from Queenstown. Starting the walk on the Glenorchy/Paradise side.
- Leave early, Try and arrive at the Routeburn shelter by 8:30am, this will give you time to enjoy the walk.
- I picked up a packed lunch from the Ferg Baker on Shotover St (downtown Queenstown CBD). They are open early and you can get freshly baked items and nice takeaway coffee for the 45 min drive.
- Hiking boots are not required, gym shoes are fine.
- if you are walking at a medium pace, you will have time to walk up to the second hut called “Falls”
- if you walk 2 mins past the falls hut, you will see magnificent water falls and sweeping views over the valley below. This is the place to stop and have lunch.
- The walk out is easier and you will be back to the car park by 3-4pm
