Beautiful state park, but small lake

点评：This state park is very beautiful, nestled amongst some huge pine and oak trees. We got there at 5:00pm and the park office was closed. I was able to goto my site and setup, knowing that I would need to check in the next morning before 8:45am from previous experience. Next day, I went to check in and get my park tags to re-enter back into the park.
Temperature wasn’t as hot as it typically is in West Texas (DFW Area) and the trees might have helped with that. All the offerings that the park offered were very convenient. From the park store, to the kayak/canoe/paddle boat rentals that were also offered ($20/hr), swimming area to the fishing piers, it was a fun place to RV. I went fishing and this lake is probably better suited for a bobber and a worm to catch anything. I didn’t have much luck at this lake, not even a nibble using plastics, lures, and various other bait. Kids didn’t catch anything either.
We stayed in BP334 and saw that BP336 was not a good site for a larger TT, or a 5th wheel. There is a huge tree there making it a little harder for a larger trailer. One person tried and they ended up moving to another site down from 336. Nobody used BP336 while we were there. At BP334, it was able to accommodate our 41’ TT (from the coupler to the back of the TT), plus I was able to park my F250 without impeding the road. I wish the rocks that they placed weren’t there though. It would’ve made it easier to get the trailer situated perfectly and not worry about hitting the large rocks they placed there.
My only disappointment was how small the lake was. Trails and the scenery made up for it and I would definitely stay there again!
