One of the Most Genuine Ski Experiences in the USA!

点评：I have skied from coast to coast. I cannot say enough about this incredible ski mountain. Red Lodge may not have the modern facilities of many of the (high priced) ski resorts of the west, however the mountain and community more than make up for it in the friendliness (atmosphere), incredible terrain and down right have a good time nature of the locals. When you ski here you are welcomed into their fold!
Terrain, everything from long giant slalom turns on pleasantly arcing Lazy M from the top of Grizzly Peak. Easy turns down Bobcat and Turnpike. Leg burners in the Cole Creek drainage off a High Speed Quad. Side and Backcountry challenges in Headwaters. And you can find chutes galore if you want that challenge. Red Lodge is also family friendly with the addition of the high speed Stache Lift near the Miami Beach area and a great ski learning area - program. In addition the Palisades area with a High Speed Quad is totally geared to the intermediate and beginner crowd.
And at the end of the day, stay around, because you simply cannot beat wrapping it up in the Bierstube. There is often a boisterous and friendly crowd having a good time listening to some local bands and musicians. This, literally is my favorite bar! The deck at the Bierstube and the Midway Chalet bar none, are our favorite places to hang out with beers on sun filled Spring skiing days.
Red Lodge Mountain is a happy place. You will not find the pretentious atmosphere of the larger resorts. Locals will talk to you and share their knowledge and experiences with the mountain. (And quite a few are true locals!) The ski community here is genuine. Disclaimer: I am not a true local, have been skiing here for 20+ years, and wish that I had discovered this gem right out of college.
