Local dive shop with dive loving staff and awesome espresso

点评：Awequatic got me in last minute for two morning dives ($60 each) during the ramp up to the busy season. I popped into the office the day before to get fitted for equipment and fill in basic paperwork. They even made me a proper espresso, which I drank while chatting with my guide/dive buddy Ahmad who was super chill and knowledgable and took the time to answer many questions about the diving and the area and Rasdhoo in general.
Dive time and boat location was shared in a WhatsApp group the night before. The boat, crew, and equipment were all solid and in great shape. BCD looked new, which is rare at dive shops. Diving sites are nearby so no stress about rushing to places and back.
Diving locations were exceptional. Two awesome drift dives (my favorite). Saw a school of Mobula rays (rare) and many grey and white tip sharks. Second dive had many more grey sharks, marble ray, and one massive Manta Ray come straight at me.
Ahmad provided a flawless experience. Perfect dives. Excellent marine life scouting. Great sighting recap and Q&A afterwards. Probably my smoothest dives in the last year.
Lastly I learned this is a local run shop. Good to support the island. I also enjoyed hearing about how they approach diving (don’t touch / don’t feed), which is the right way and I’m glad they don’t succumb to tourists looking to disturb wildlife for a photo.
