We had the privilege of starting the year with a bang. We joined Dominic for The Little India Express Tour . Each stop offered something unique, making the tour both enriching and delicious.
The Tour began at the 1860 Heritage Centre in Greyville Durban. The 1860 Heritage Centre is a South African heritage museum that showcases the diversity of South Africa's rich heritage.
The visit to the Spice Emporium was a sensory delight. Browsing through aromatic local spices and sampling Indian street food was a highlight—I honestly had the best samoosa I’ve ever tasted. The brief stop was perfectly timed and left me wanting more.
The next stop was the magnificent Hare Krishna Temple. The temple is largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. The serenity of the prayer experience was deeply moving and provided a beautiful experience overall. A visit downstairs to Govinda’s for a quick vegetarian lunch was the perfect ending tasty wholesome, and delicious experience. They have a beautiful amphitheatre and are surrounded by a water feature with koi fish .
The concluded with a drive to Bangladesh Market, a bustling fresh produce market right in the heart of Chatsworth. The atmosphere was lively and authentic, filled with locals shopping for their daily essentials. Be sure to bring cash and carrier bags
