Best Pantanal photo tour you can find!

点评：My husband and I are well traveled and also have completed over 25 photography tours, of which 6 have been safaris. This trip ranked among the best for several reasons.
We have criteria that Octavio met, one being that the group is small. Another is that the leader be a photographer. Third is that we’d rather have better pictures than elegant quarters.
This trip has a maximum of 6 photographers. We were fortunate to have a simpatico group. Octavio is a master of animal behavior and is very familiar with the locations he brings clients to, so also know where individual animals live. He is incredibly knowledgeable about birds as well as the mammals and amphibians in the Pantanal and was able to find animals seemingly out of this air. He knows the forms of all the birds (juvenile, mating plumage, male, female, seasonal colors, etc) and can identify them from 1000 feet away.
The lodges were more than adequate and one was particularly lovely. There was a lunch stop that could rival some places in Napa.
Most of all, the opportunity to get great shots, in part due to Octavio’s gentle mentoring, but even more so due to his, the boat pilots’ and the drivers’ dedication to client outcomes cannot be surpassed.
