Revving Through Time: A Must-Visit Journey at Fulton’s Auto World Museum

点评：As part of a adult father and son road trip, we visited the Auto World Museum in Fulton, MO and were blown away by the quality, quantity, and presentation of classic cars in the museum. The museum opened in it’s original location 1996 by William Backer, a collector and aficionado of classic vehicles and moved to its current location in 2006. What makes the museum special is not only the mint condition of the vehicles, the historical setting in which each is displayed to momentarily transport the visitor back to the time the vehicles was at its heyday. Whether a 1896 Ford Qudracycle, Ford Model T,‘57 Chevy Belaire Convertible, 1997 Mizzou Sun Tiger II, or anything in between, we satisfied our car appetites.
Tom Jones, Manager and Curator of the museum has a true passion for the cars and the facility. As the Artistic Director of TKJ Designs in Fulton, Missouri, Tom designed the Hollywood-like sets that bring the cars to life. He works in partnership with the current owner of the museum, William Backer’s daughter, Vicki McDaniel, who’s passion for her father’s legacy is continued in her desire to present antique and modern cars where everyone can see and appreciate them.
We almost didn’t go to the museum because of a potential scheduling issue, but we are eternally grateful that after a scheduling change, we had time to visit. Tom does a wonderful job welcoming visitors to the museum, providing a high-level oral history, and offering the best ways to enjoy and get the most out of your visit. his affable charm and friendliness made him as essential a part of the visit as the cars themselves.
I encourage everyone in the Fulton area to make the Auto World Museum a part of you next visit when visiting the area.
