Black Horse Course - still my favorite

点评：having served at Ft. Ord in the 80's, this always feels like coming home when we visit. I remember playing both courses for $5 back in the day as we were charged based on rank..... only way the golf was affordable, but I digress....
Ok - I played as a single on a Friday afternoon, and as expected, was paired with a couple of guys from the area - all good there as we got along well, and were playing about the same quality of golf, which sadly would not get us on tour anytime soon, but we were having fun!
I'd love to see the course put greater emphasis on reinforcing to players that fixing pitch marks on the greens, filling their fairway divots, and raking bunkers are all mandatory, but I guess it's too much to ask. we're all wanting to have a great experience, and one way to diminish that experience for others is to not demonstrate proper golf etiquette.... people are people I guess.
despite the lack of care, the course is beautiful, with amazing views, picturesque fairways and greens a challenging layout, and some really, really challenging putting options when you get on the wrong side of the hole. there are several tee boxes so you can play to your index in order to have a good time.
on this given Friday, it was pretty crowded, so the round took just over 5 hours - long day with several waits to hit shots. We actually had the group behind us hit into us three times, despite the obvious scenario that we couldn't go anywhere, and letting them through wouldn't have solved anything. thankfully this didn't turn into a confrontation but again..... can't golfers just behave???
this is a must play if you want a really nice and challenging course, for something less than Pebble or Spyglass costs.

由于是周五，球场人潮拥挤，所以这一轮比赛耗时超过5个小时——漫长的一天，期间多次等待击球。实际上，我们身后的人撞到了我们三次，尽管我们显然无法前进，让他们通过也无济于事。谢天谢地，这并没有演变成冲突，但话说回来……高尔夫球手就不能规矩点吗？
如果你想要一个真正漂亮且具有挑战性的球场，而且价格比Pebble或Spyglass便宜，那么这里是必打之地。
