No international airport, scams and untypical additional charges for international flights

点评：Colombo International Airport is not nice and has a reputation to charge and harass tourists for carrying a purse or even food on the international flights and combining the 7 kilo carry on luggage with your purse jacket food etc even though stated otherwise on airline websites. I had the opportunity to deal with this hell over four times in the last month when visiting Sri Lanka, and going through the Colombo international Airport to the Maldives. It was an absolute nightmare every time and when we left this airport, we were notified that this is an ongoing harassment issue very common for Colombo airport. They charged us over $100 for 4 pounds, which included our purse and food in addition to our carry-on luggage, which was practically empty. I do not recommend this airport. please be notified when you were traveling that they are notorious for this. It was the most exhausting and I like experience. It made us not want to visit this beautiful country of Sri Lanka just do not have to deal with this horrific airport and their unconventional policies, which are not in compliance with any of the websites for the airlines that we flew with. Regardless, we will no longer fly with Air Sri Lanka or Gulf Air, which continued this harassment. However, when we were flying with these other airlines outside of the Colombo airport, their policies and behavior were very different, letting us know that this issue is an ongoing issue for this airport. We were also notified that these actions are very common for the people at I port, and not common for the airport at the Maldives. Regardless, I would never recommend dealing with this airport. Please be notified. If you have a carry-on bag, they will combine the weight for your international flight with your personal item and even a pillow or blanket you might be caring.
