Honey Bear Bush Camp的点评
点评：Our stay at Honey Bear Bush Camp was probably the highlight of our Ugandan trip. When we arrived the wonderful staff were there to greet us off the boat- Kelsey and Byron were wonderful hosts. Only later we learnt it was their first week at Honey Bear! I'm sure they will be great promoters of this slice of paradise.
The camp is just on the water's edge so the views from our chic clamping tents was amazing by day..and noisy by night as the hippos made themselves quite at home close to our accommodation.
On our first afternoon we sailed in a dhow on the Kazinga Channel and then landed back on the beach for sundowners-incredible to watch the hippos as we downed our G&Ts. The meals were fabulous-all really interesting and diverse menus and beautifully presented. One of our party of six was celebrating a birthday and out came an especially prepared magnificent cake complete with staff dancing and singing happy birthday.
On our last morning we went on a great drive in the Kyamba Game Reserve and Queen Elizabeth National Park. Spotted lots of elephants and met up with a couple of trackers who'd sighted some chimpanzees. That afternoon we were out on a guided walk and came across the same trackers who led us to a community of chimpanzees. We spent over an hour observing the chimps' patterns of social interaction. It was fascinating.
Our time at Honey Bear really was special- it is a unique place and although it has only been established recently, it has great potential for showcasing the best Uganda has to offer. Thanks again Kelsey and Byron.
