Highly recommend the Town Hall tour

点评：The Astronomical Clock is fascinating to watch as bells ring and cocks crow on the hour. The tower was built in 1364 and the clock was added in 1410. It tells the time but also the movement of the sun and moon through the signs of the zodiac and the planets around the Earth. It's very busy around the hour throughout the day but still easy to watch even if you are further away.
The Town Hall building is made up of several houses that were bought over time. It's a beautiful building and the guided tour is well worth it to find out more about the building. We had the Prague Visitor Pass and this allowed a tour and the use of the lift to get to the viewing platform. We went on the first tour of the day and I would recommend that as there were only a few of us at the top so it was easy to get to look at the views which were fantastic. You visit the Gothic Chapel where you see the wooden apostles that rotate on the clock from the inside. You also go down into the cellars which were once at ground floor level. The North Wing was destroyed in WWII but you can see a cross that was made from the wooden beams afterwards. Just outside this area there are 27 white crosses painted on the ground in memory of the Bohemian nobles who were executed after the Thirty Years War. a really interesting tour that I would highly recommend.
