点评：My partner and I stumbled upon this gem during our drive from Rethimno to Margarites.
We saw a cute sign for Arkadianos Farm, and decided to check it out. The experience was one of the highlights our trip in Crete. Upon pulling up to the building, we were immediately greeted by a cheerful, and friendly woman. She gave us a brief introduction of the family owned farm. She then took us to see and feed the baby goats. Next we went to see other areas of the farm, including the milking station and adult sheep and goat areas. We saw numerous cute animals including dogs, cats, goats, and even a newborn baby sheep (2 days old). Next we went inside to the yogurt and cheese making areas. There, we were greeted warmly by more cheerful members of the family; including the grandmother, mother, and daughter in law. They were busy making the pudding which would be sent to local grocery stores the next day. We observed the cheese and yogurt making process, and even got to sample all their products! We even got to try the new jelly+vanilla pudding which wasn’t being distributed yet. The tour and tasting was complimentary, but we ended up buying a few cheeses and traditional rice pudding with cinnamon because of how delicious they were.
Their hospitality and generosity made this experience very special. A wonderful pairing to this experience would be to visit the Markakis Olive mill, only a few minutes away.
