点评：We had been in Bordeaux before and it is always a nice city to visit. The Lumieres exhibit in the old German sub pens was phenomenal. Riding along the canals was great and mostly easy and we seldom got lost. The Freewheeling app was very good with maps and directions and finding lost riders. The bikes were above average and very adequate for this kind of riding, we were equally split between E and acoustic bikes. Our guides, as in the past with Freewheeling, were excellent.
We had a growing issue with our accommodations, however. The first two nights were great as was the food. The next night hotel was below par and we were on the third floor with no elevator and had to carry our bags up and then back down. The bathroom door in one of the rooms did not close all the way. The hotel on the fifth night in Castelnaudary was similar but even worse. The cyclists all rebelled at this particularly because it seemed these reservations had been changed since we signed up to the tour. Our guides rose to the occasion and called corporate headquarters and got us moved to the TRIBE hotel in Carcassonne where we were scheduled to be the following night anyway and it was excellent.
After this we did another tour with Trek Travel with better bikes and better hotels and not that much more expensive. Still, this was our third tour with Freewheeling and the first two were great and we would use them again as they continue to offer some unique options.
