点评：Excellent museum, very well organised and full of interesting items. We had the full 1.5-hour presentation which was absolutely excellent, and given in flawless English. I don't normally like conducted tours, particularly when I know something of the subject already. I generally prefer to spend my time on looking at the objects of most interest to me at my own pace, but Kobarid's presentation is so very good I would not have missed it, nor would I have missed the opportunity to draw on the guide's thorough knowledge of his subject.
Favourite exhibit? The magnificent model of the mountains over which so much blood was spilt, brilliantly explained by projected information supplemented by the guide's laser pointer. Technology that actually works. Photographs, themselves of very high quality, show the individual mountains and military positions, integrated carefully with contemporary photographs that have benefited from digital scanning and printing.
The museum thoroughly deserves its European Small Museum award.
Allow yourself plenty of time, and don't miss that splendid conducted tour!
