点评:We thoroughly enjoyed our Footsteps of Farsa tour. We had a lovely morning trek with Arthur. The breadth and depth of his knowledge is amazing and made the experience so rich. We were able to picture the former residents of the old village of Farsa enjoying time at the taverna, baking bread for their families, tending to the beehives, crushing the grapes to make wine, and pressing the olives. The remains of the village’s homes and buildings after the 1953 earthquake are truly beautiful, interwoven over time with the native plants and trees. The village is perched atop a hill and provides gorgeous views of the town below and the sea beyond. It is a marvelous slice of Kefalonia! Arthur provides a vivid narrative of Farsa’s history, including its occupation by Italian and German soldiers in WWII. His love and respect for the people of Farsa is evident throughout the walk, as is his care for those of us on the tour. He made sure to guide us carefully and check on our well-being along the way. Three hours may sound like a chunk of time, but it is well worth it to participate in this. You will leave with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the people and beauty of Kefalonia.
