Great place but sad about the Sen sessions

点评：We went on a SEN session back in September.
Saddened to find these are no longer a thing.
This place is incredible but unfortunately as a neurodivergent family totally inaccessible on a normal session.
B is a 12 year old who developmentally is around 6, he loves dressing up, role playing trouble is B is also a very tall child for his age. Other play areas around the area are just that little bit too small for him to access. B also just about tolerates his smaller sister E who again may be 9 in age but developmentally is about 4. Both have profound autism and associated needs. As a family we struggle to access really anything that enriches the children’s lives and their needs due to the lack of access that places offer. We as a family rely on SEND sessions to access these amazing places and not be isolated within the community. No two days are the same which means we don’t always make one monthly sessions but we do intensely try!
Half term and school holiday sessions are always a bonus too!
The great thing about this place was everything was adult height. B had no struggles role playing as a police man, exploring houses and taking his favourite convoy of teddies through the various places and spaces within the centre. E is the Houdini of the group and whilst found an outside way out, staff were extremely quick to respond and put measures in place to ensure that there indeed was no way out, E explored with huge amounts of confidence sliding down fireman poles, a day at the beach, lugging babies from the nursery and showing off her “neat” hairdressing skills.
The centre was extremely clean and tidy, well presented and staff couldn’t of been more excellent if they had tried.
Really sad that we won’t be able to access this again unless SEND sessions are reinstated or if we as a family could merge together with other families to private hire, as sadly risk assessing a normal session just wouldn’t be possible for us!
