Studio Tour is a must!

点评：We decided to make the most of our trip to Chesterwood, so we purchased the house tour ticket, which included the studio tour. There's also a self-guided tour available for those interested.
The house tour was enjoyable, but the studio tour truly impressed us. The guide for that part of the tour was incredibly knowledgeable and engaged the group with interesting questions. It was very enlightening about artistic expression in sculpture.
We learned how large sculptures are created, including ones larger than life-size, like the 20-foot-tall Lincoln statue. The guide explained the historical detail of Lincoln's swollen hands in the statue. So much handshaking caused swollen hands, and the Kennedys even used ice water to treat theirs after greetings. At the time of photographing Lincoln for the statue, his hands were so swollen that he had to hold onto a stick which can be seen in the statue.
