点评:We visited the Meyer Art Museum in the KOBE Museum complex.
This contains the private collection of businessman Rasmus Meyer. Over two floors, you wander through the golden age of Norwegian art history, from 1880 to 1905 and onwards to 1920. We were particularly interested in viewing the world's third-largest collection of Edvard Munch works. However we also enjoyed wonderful works by other leading Norwegian Artists including Harriet Backer, Nikolai Astrup, and J. C. Dahl to name a few. At the time of our visit there was a ceramics exhibition by contemporary artist Heidi Bjørgan. Be aware the famous Edvard Munch work The Scream is NOT part of the Meyer collection. It is on display in the National Museum in Oslo. We were aware of this, how were there were visitors looking for that work who were disappointed. The museum shop had nice items for sale. There are restrooms near the entrance but no cafe. Allow 2-3 hours depending on your level of interest.
