Slow Service and Involuntary Gratuities

点评：The hotel is very nice for a short stopover on a trip. The food in the restaurant is very good. However, the service in the restaurant is painfully slow. I realise that the food is prepared fresh for each meal but the time taken is too long. It took at least 15 minutes to get a drink rough from the bar even though it was not busy. However. the main issue I have is the automatic addition of 18% to the bill as a service charge. If the service had been acceptable that a charge is justified but not for the poor saw service I received. I did not notice the charge until the day after our restaurant visit as I would definitely had it removed from the bill. Tipping in my opinion is voluntary and not an excuse for additional charges, especially when the service is poor. Where appropriate, I always reward good service, and I should have been more vigilant when reviewing the bill.
