The Rockwell Museum的点评
点评：I last visited the museum in 2015 before the joining with the Smithsonian.
This was and is a great way to see art from the American West of the 19h Century. Remington and Russell items line the wall of the top floor.
The museum used to have modern art by Native American artists which had a vibrancy of their own. The comparisons of old and new western art was impressive.
Now under the Smithsonian the lower gallery can best be described as 'WOKE'
Now African American art is displayed. While the art is good and well worth being displayed it raises the question of why with the vast amount of Native American art available to the Smithsonian the art isn't used to expand on that theme?
It seems to me Native Americans get the short straw in this new arrangement.
Well worth a visit, but could have been better.
