A gem of a culture house to visit in Isafjordur
Isafjordur Culture House的点评
点评：What was formerly a hospital is now an elegant and super interesting place to visit if you’ve already taken an excursion to places like Dinjandi waterfall outside of the city. This was our second time in Isafjordur and we had time to do a leisurely walking tour on our own of this lovely viibrant town..it was a plus that the weather was sunny and perfect😊
The Culture House has an upper level with items and photos of its time as a hospital. It also serves as a space for art exhibits ( the one we saw ln one of the floors below was excellent and very modern), and the best part is its public library which is divided into separate smaller spaces, depending on your taste. My favorite was the one where you could stretch out comfortably by the large window and read and relax to your heart’s content. Outside is an inviting large open green space and a striped trampoline area for mostly kids )and grownups) to enjoy. In the background are impressive mountains. Very walkable from the cruise port and highly recommended as part of a leisurely, educational and relaxing day.
