点评:We happened upon this lovely park while on a roadtrip through Lexington.
We were so drawn to the life size jockeys and horses at a standing race in front of the fountain. We also found numerous horse sculptures around this lovely park. There was one colt laying just in front of a bush when we walked in. There was also a field of young and old horse sculptures just up the staircase behind the fountain. Follow the information plaques behind the fountain up around the loop to read about different notable people in the area.
If you walk all the way to the end, you will find a horse monument of Lexington.
The fountain is beautiful with its numerous sprayers. There was also a duck mama and her ducklings. She wouldn’t let us get very close, but I did get some nice photos.
On a sidenote, there’s also a really cool mural across the street that can be seen from the Lexington statue at the end as well.
Dogs allowed and good for kids. Just be sure to pay attention to the “no swimming” signs around the fountain. This is a beautiful spot for tourists (quite a few while we were there) to take photos so you want to make sure and keep it nice.
Would definitely purely recommend stopping by!
