They left us no choice but to cancel our booking the day before our trip and ignored all of our messages until 9PM the night before, leaving us scrambling to find alternative accommodation at the last minute. They told us the land rover we booked was off the road and offered us an unsuitable replacement. When we told them we would be willing to try the unsuitable replacement and asked what goodwill gesture they could offer, they refused anything to make up for the inconvenience.
So we could still go on holiday, we ended up booking an Airbnb and lost money on campsite bookings, which they didn’t care about in the slightest. Their customer service was dismissive. When we called to discuss the issue, we were met with an unprofessional “it can be” response when asking if it was a good time to talk, followed by them telling us to send a text to them because they were “too busy.” It was clear they had no interest in resolving the situation. To make matters worse, it’s been over two weeks, and they’ve ignored our emails regarding the refund. The only communication we’ve had since was after I publicly asked them on Instagram to respond to my emails airing my disappointment in them. They claimed the emails went into their spam however they were sent to their enquiries email address. It seems they have no interest in resolving their failings.
This company seems to only care about their image, not their customers. Save yourself the headache, avoid Defender Campers and go and book a good holiday with someone else. Their complete lack of professionalism, communication, and basic courtesy will ruin your trip.
Defender campers, when you see this please can you stop ignoring my emails and let me know when we will be getting a refund.
