Best Farm Tour of Kauai at Waipa in Hannalei

点评：Kelsey was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide to the variety of projects of Waipa which include shore and fish pond restoration, management of invasive and planting of native plants for best land management, harvesting of taro, and we enjoyed delicious treats curated by onsite chef Seneca, which included: banana bread, fresh starfruit, papaya, salads, sautéed shrimp, seasoned taro cakes, and delicious island famous thistle tea and "cheese" cake made from local ingredients from the farm. Most importantly we were guided to understand more about Hawaiian culture and needs of local community, and how the farm supports these. I loved knowing they have lots of educational opportunities for children of all ages, and adult students seeking a greater understanding of farming and land management on Kauai and of cultural practices that are core and integral to its success. You can plan to come to volunteer -4th Saturdays are open to community for those wanting to get hands working on site. Mahalo Nui !
