Outstanding 10-Day Birding Experience with Lamin – Highly Recommended!

点评：We spent 9 incredible days birding in The Gambia with Lamin as our guide, and we truly couldn’t have wished for a better experience. From the first moment, it was clear that Lamin is not only extremely knowledgeable about birds (hot spots, behavior, identification), but also genuinely passionate, calm, and endlessly dedicated. No matter the time of day, heat or how many species we had already seen, he was always ready to search for “just one more” – never tired, never stressed, always enthusiastic.
Our focus was photography, and Lamin tailored the entire trip perfectly to our wishes. Whether adjusting the pace, finding the right light, choosing the best angles, or waiting patiently for the ideal moment, he was always fully committed to helping us get the shots we hoped for.
Although we missed a couple of our target species, that’s simply nature – especially since we visited right after the rainy season, when the landscape is beautifully lush, water is plentiful, and birds can be a bit harder to find. Still, we collected the impressive number of 240 species, including many inland specialties once we travelled upriver after four nights in Senegambia (check them out on Flickr: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCBCAF).
What really made the trip special was how well Lamin took care of us throughout the journey: Lamin’s calm, friendly, and open personality made every day a pleasure. If you’re considering a birding trip in The Gambia, we can wholeheartedly recommend him. He is a fantastic guide and a wonderful person, and our trip would not have been the same without him. We’d book with him again in a heartbeat!
