点评:We got to visit Trinity Hills Cellar Door while we were visiting friends who had just moved to Napier, as part of a wine tour with Frankly Tours (see other review). We did the tour on a Sunday, hoping that the cellar doors would be open, and we were not disappointed. Trinity Hills was our 2nd stop and a very different feel and flavour from The Mission where we went first. A modern take on wine production was highlighted here with the gravel grown wines being their USP. The building itself is an architectural wonder of a beast, and the fell of the place a lot more industrial and 'in production'. The young wine tour guide was (by his own admission) quite new to the game, but his knowledge was very capable for our levels and tases and very entertaining. 7 wines tasted from 3 3 ranges of wines range, starting with lighter whites and finishing with reds. These were chosen based on our preferences during our chat and not a 'set menu' as we have seen with other places. Purchasing here was very low-key, but simple as retails is set up where you can just pick up bottles from the shelves in the room, all clearly marked and priced. The venue itself is setup as a cafe bistro with quite an extensive menu which we didn't try on this tour), so i could see this being a good weekend afternoon lunch/wine spot with friends on our next visit.
