A relaxing day at Gouvia Beach

点评：We stayed in Agios Stephanos (north east) for our first week in Corfu, then moved to Corfu town for the second week. We realised after a few days that Corfu town didn’t have enough in museums and sights to fill a full week and that we wanted to relax on a nearby beach. We chose Gouvia, 20 minutes by bus from Saroko Square in Corfu town. Once the bus reaches Gouvia get off at the second stop (the first stop is the marina which is a long walk from the beach).
The beach is well equipped with a shower and bamboo changing booth. There’s a great choice of sunbeds and umbrellas, a beach bar, and a decent restaurant just off the beach - ideal for lunch.
The beach has a beautiful view over the bay. We would recommend spending a day there to escape the thousands of cruise liner tourists who clog up the narrow streets of Corfu Old Town.
