点评:We'd been on Samui a few days and my legs were wrecked from walking, so I did what everyone does and searched for a massage near me expecting to end up somewhere forgettable. Body & Soul Health Massage came up, it was on the main circle road near Cheong Mon Beach , and honestly it turned out to be one of the best things we did on the whole island.
My partner Emmy and I booked a couples massage, which they set up in a shared room so we could stay together - worth asking for when you book, because it made the whole thing feel like an occasion rather than an errand. We went with the 90-minute Signature, which is their own blend of Thai, Hawaiian, Swedish and Balinese technique using warm coconut oil. I've had a lot of massages in Thailand over the years and this was a genuinely different thing: less of the brutal joint-cracking you sometimes get, more sustained, deliberate pressure that actually found the problems rather than just working around them.
Our therapists were Som and Kathy, and they're the reason I'm writing this. Som worked on my shoulders and upper back, which have been a mess for years, and she found knots I didn't know I had - firm without ever tipping into painful, and she checked in on pressure at exactly the right moments without breaking the flow of it. Emmy had Kathy and came out saying it was the best massage she'd ever had, full stop. Both of them clearly know what they're doing; this isn't tourist-strip stuff.
The manager, Dadar, deserves a mention too. She greeted us at the door, walked us through the menu properly instead of just handing over a laminated card, and made a couple of recommendations based on what we said was sore. Afterwards she came back with tea and had a proper chat rather than rushing us out the door. That kind of hospitality is what separates a good spa from a place you actually want to return to.
Practical notes for anyone considering it: they're open daily 10am to 10pm, they take cash, cards and gift vouchers, and while walk-ins are fine, I'd book ahead - especially for a couples massage in the evening. Prices are very reasonable for the quality; the Signature was excellent value against what you'd pay at a resort spa for something noticeably worse.
We went back a second time before we flew out. That's probably the highest compliment I can give. If you're anywhere near Choeng Mon, go = and ask for Som or Kathy.
