点评:I visited the Bunny Lee museum with my son and my sister in March, it was part of a reggae music focused tour of Kingston with a guide and friend called Carlo Less.
We arrived at the studio and were treated to extracts of a video of the life of the legendary Striker Lee.
There were so many interesting exhibits on show and the guide did a great job explaining the history and stories associated with Bunny and his works.
There was an area called Idlers Rest with a collage of photos of so many artists that passed through back in the day, it was extremely interesting to understand better the extent of Strikers influence on Jamaican music.
From the stage-worn outfits of the Cool Ruler, Gregory Isaacs, to the last microphone used by the Crown Prince of Reggae, Dennis Brown, and even King Tubby’s original studio chair, the space is a treasure trove of reggae history.
As someone who has followed reggae for decades, this visit was truly a bucket-list experience. If you’re a reggae fan, this museum is an absolute must. If you’re new to Kingston’s musical legacy, you’ll leave with an appreciation for a man who rightfully holds a place among reggae royalty.
