点评：Zipmas was fantastic from beginning to end.
Here's a useful tip: make sure to take a bathroom break before boarding the train to the caves and don't forget to wear waterproof clothing.
The festive decorations around the site added a magical touch to the entire setting, with lights and cheerful music creating an enchanting atmosphere. The children's laughter and excitement were contagious, and it was heartwarming to see families coming together to enjoy start getting in the festive spirit.
Our first stop was the café, where the dads enjoyed a beer, the moms sipped on coffee, and amidst all the attractions, there was the GRINCH—a green, furry, pot-bellied, pear-shaped, snub-nosed humanoid with a cat-like face and a sharp sense of humour. He captivated the children for what felt like an eternity. Playful and cheeky, he snatched our hats and tried them on, even taking our phones to film himself while entertaining a room full of laughter.
Following a safety briefing, we hopped onto the small train heading down to the caverns. To calm the children's nerves, we sang "Jingle Bells," but as soon as the doors opened at the bottom and they beheld the enchanting tunnels, all their worries vanished. They were captivated by the dazzling lights and the beautiful surroundings.
Inside the caves, the decorations were enchanting, capturing the spirit of the season perfectly. Each corner seemed to hold a new surprise, from hidden elves to whimsical snow scenes. It was a winter wonderland brought to life.
Mini golf with added festivities was an excellent way to keep the children entertained with each hole offering a unique challenge and theme. The dim lighting, combined with glowing neon obstacles, created an atmosphere of mystery and fun. We navigated through rickety rope bridges and around engineered steel sculptures. Laughter and the occasional cheer echoed through the cavernous space as the children enjoyed the quirky twists and turns of the course. It was an adventure unlike any other, where creativity and skill met in a delightful game of precision and chance.
A highlight of the experience was the authentic Father Christmas grotto, where the jolly old man himself welcomed visitors with open arms. Dressed in his traditional red suit, complete with a real white beard and a twinkle in his eye, Father Christmas shared stories of his traditions and the magic of the season. The children lined up eagerly to share their Christmas wishes. The grotto's backdrop was adorned with beautiful decorations, including sparkling tinsel and a cozy fireplace, creating an atmosphere that felt straight out of a storybook. Father Christmas gifted the children a Slate Bauble each and sent them on their way to the land of glitter..
The crafts station was a blast! The children went wild decorating their Christmas ornaments with sparkly glitter and colorful paint pens. When we got home, they proudly hung their masterpieces on the garland like little festive Picasso’s!
The last stop was the present pickup, but not before enjoying a quick hot chocolate and a sweet treat to keep everyone warm and content after the bauble decorating. While the children played in the nearby outdoor area, the parents were able to enjoy a well-deserved five minutes to themselves.
Despite a minor hiccup which meant we missed it on getting an official photo in Santa’s grotto the day left us with cherished memories. It's an experience we're already looking forward to repeating next year, with even more friends and family in tow (if they have a cavern big enough…).
