Beware – Predatory Practices at Belgrade Airport Location

点评：I booked and fully prepaid a 10-day rental through Capital One Travel (USD $148.52). What I actually paid by the end was approximately USD $718 — nearly five times the original amount.
At pickup, after 24+ hours of international travel, I was told my prepaid booking was "not sufficient" and that my credit card insurance wouldn't apply. I was given two choices: buy Avis insurance on the spot, or leave a €6,000 deposit assuming full liability for the vehicle. It was late at night and I had no way to verify this with my bank in the US. I had no real choice but to comply.
The final receipt included over DIN 33,000 in "Optional Services" (insurance I was pressured into), a Location Surcharge for the exact airport location I had already booked, a fuel charge despite returning the car with a full tank, and additional rental charges on top of my prepayment.
If you are traveling from abroad and booking through a third-party platform, be very cautious with this location. Get everything in writing before you sign anything, and have your bank's international number ready before you land.
